Application Eligibility

Based on the existing awards including volunteer hour awards, outstanding awards and caring school/ estate awards, new awards such as Outstanding Youth Volunteer Project, HKJC Outstanding Caring School, and HKJC Evergreen and New Star awards are now open for application this year. For more details, please visit Award's Details.

Applicants are welcome to apply more than one awards if they are eligible. Please refer to the Awards' Details for further information.

Individuals volunteer can apply for: Outstanding Volunteer Award, Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award, JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER Outstanding Evergreen Volunteer Award, JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER Outstanding New Star Volunteer Award, Outstanding Youth Volunteer Project Award.

Individual Award [Volunteer Hours] MUST be endorsed and submitted by *a recognized local organization.

*A recognized local organization: Registered commercial or non-profit organizations, including: government departments, statutory bodies, chambers of commerce, professional bodies or uniformed groups

The award candidates are recommended by the Hong Kong Disciplined Services Departments or other relevant sources, no application is required.

After successful submission via the online application page, the applicant will receive a confirmation email from the system to their default contact email address. If you do not receive the email, please check your email junk/spam box. If you still do not receive the confirmation email, please contact us within 5 working days after submitting your application.

We will inform applicants the result through the contact information they submitted.

It means holding a valid Business Registration  Certificate (BR) and operate a company/business entity in Hong Kong for more than one year.

Application Fee

Application fee waiver are given to all Individual Members, Corporate Members and Registered Organizations of Agency for Volunteer Service's Hong Kong Community Volunteers (“HKCV”) .

For non-members, Application fee can be submitted by

Cheque:  Fees to be paid by crossed cheque made payable to” Agency for Volunteer Service” with the name of the corporate/organization and the reference number written in front of the envelope and mail it to Office 7116, 10/F,  YF Life Tower, 33 Lockhart Road Wanchai Hong Kong

Direct transfer: Direct deposit of the application fee to Agency for Volunteer Service's bank account at HSBC 002-478865-001, and please upload a copy of the payment receipt on the online application system to finish the application process.

The application fee is not deductible for tax purposes.

Organizer will contact and arrange for the receipt once the application has been submitted and the application fee has been settled.

Nomination

To participate in Outstanding Volunteer/Group or Outstanding Youth Volunteer/Group, individuals/volunteer groups must be nominated by nominator/nominating organization. 

To participate in Outstanding Corporate & Non-Commercial Organizations, corporates or organizations can choose to recommend themselves or to be nominated. The relevant information submitted by the nominating organization will be used for selection purposes.

-    To nominate Outstanding Corporate & Non-Commercial Organization

• A recognized local non-profit organization is eligible, the head of the nominating organization should not be a relative of the corporation’s responsible official

• Nominator can make one or more nominations

• Self-nomination of corporate and Non-Commercial Organization is admissible

• The organizer and co-organizer of the Hong Kong Volunteer Award are not eligible to nominate or be nominated


-    To Outstanding Volunteer/ Group or Outstanding Youth Volunteer/ Group

• A recognized local non-profit organization or an individual nominator is eligible, the nominator or head of the nominating organization should not be a relative of the corporation’s responsible official

• Nominator can make one or more nominations

• The organizer and co-organizer of the Hong Kong Volunteer Award are not eligible to nominate


Joining Agency for Volunteer Service's Hong Kong Community Volunteers (“HKCV”)

The membership of HKCV is open to individual and corporate volunteers who support the mission and values of the Agency for Volunteer Service (“AVS”). To apply for membership, interested parties should fill in the "Hong Kong Community Volunteers Membership Application Form" or register via our online portal V-HK with the submission of fees. For more details, please visit our website (https://www.volunteering.org.hk/registration).

Through the HKCV, both individual members and corporate members can submit and manage their service hour records. After records have been verified, members will be nominated by AVS to compete for awards based on volunteer hours.

The membership of HKCV is NOT a criterion for any selection. The organizer and co-organizer are NOT eligible to nominate any candidate for the outstanding awards series. 

About Volunteer Hours

Associated Corporate/Non-Commercial Organization should verify the relevant service hour and submit together by completing Individual (Volunteer Name List, Recognized Volunteer Hours and Relevant Information of Corporates/Non-Commercial Organizations) and appendix table.

To submit an application for individual volunteers, corporates/organizations can complete the Individual (Volunteer Name List, Recognized Volunteer Hours and Relevant Information of Corporates/Non-Commercial Organizations) and appendix table through the online application system. Service hours MUST be counted from 1 January to 31 December 2022

Number of individual volunteers to be nominated will be decided by corporate and organization. Relevant information of the individual volunteer and volunteer hours will be required.

Applicants must ensure the information given is true and accurate, and the records are preserved for the organizer's verification when necessary. 

Individual Member/Corporate Member please take note of the volunteer hour collection notice by the Hong Kong Community Volunteers under Agency for Volunteer Service. You will receive a reminder E-mail to submit or adding relevant volunteer hours records counted from 1 January to 31 March 2022 and volunteer hours counted from 1 January to 31 December 2021. Members will be nominated by AVS to compete for awards based on verified volunteer hours.

Applicants can submit the application through one of the organizations you served or serving for, and the volunteer hours recorded by other organizations can also be submitted together for the organization verification. However, individual volunteers MUST submit the application through no more than one organization.

If you are a member of Agency for Volunteer Service's Hong Kong Community Volunteers (“HKCV”) or intent to join the HKCV, you can provide relevant volunteer hours records to AVS. After records have been verified, members will be nominated by AVS to compete for awards based on volunteer hours.

Logo Entitlement

Awardees can display the entitled HKV-Award logo on their advertisements or promotional materials. All advertisements and promotional materials bearing the Logo must be legal, decent, healthy, honest, and truthful and do not contain any content of defamatory, discrimination or insulting nature

Awardees including corporates, organizations, schools and estates will be eligible for using HKV-Award logo, for more details, please refer to the instruction of logo entitlement.

HKV-Award 2022's awardee will have the option to whether change the previous logo to the corresponding HKV-Award 2022 awardee's logo.

Samples of advertisements of products and services bearing the Logo must be sent to AVS via email hkv-award@avs.org.hk for prior approval and record purpose. Please allow a minimum of 5 working days for the approval process. Advertising and promotion materials bearing the Logo may only be publicly displayed after AVS's approval.

Awardees are entitled to use the logo for one year only; Corporate/ organization have to apply and be awarded for another year's logos entitlement

About the Certificate
  • - Corporate and organization awardees will be entitled a certificate for free (including volunteer hours-based awards, outstanding series awards and caring series awards) 
  • - Outstanding Volunteer/ Group Award, Outstanding Youth Volunteer/ Group Award/ Outstanding Collaboration Project Award/ Outstanding Youth Volunteer Project Award, JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER Outstanding Evergreen Volunteer Award, JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER Outstanding New Star Volunteer Award, JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER Outstanding Caring School Award, Heroic Volunteer Award, awardees will be entitled a certificate for free.


As for the price regarding individual (volunteer hours) award certificates:

  1. Corporates can apply free certificates for first 100 recommended individual volunteers. For extra certificates, the price would be: HKD $50 per extra certificate
  2. NGOs can apply free certificates for first 500 recommended individual volunteers. For extra certificates, the price would be: HKD $10 per extra certificate
